Takes about 15 seconds. Audit any page — your homepage, a service page, or your best blog post.
What does this SEO and AEO audit check?
AI Crawler Access
Whether OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and ten other AI crawlers are permitted by your robots.txt.
Technical & On-Page SEO
Image alt text, heading hierarchy, internal linking depth, Open Graph tags, mobile viewport and redirect resolution.
Entity & Trust Signals
Organization schema, sameAs links, named authors with credentials, and machine-readable publication dates.
Answer Structure
Question-shaped headings, answer-first opening paragraphs, and content chunked into lists and tables an assistant can lift.
Machine Readability
Whether your content exists in the raw HTML. Most AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so anything added after load is invisible to them.
Retrievability
Sitemap discovery, canonical tags and HTTPS — the housekeeping that keeps you findable in the first place.
Two of these are gates, not points.
If AI assistants cannot fetch your page, or cannot read it without running JavaScript, the score is capped no matter how good the content is. A page nobody can retrieve earns zero citations, and the audit says so rather than averaging the problem away.
Frequently Asked Questions
What people ask before running an audit
-
Answer Engine Optimization is the work of getting cited inside AI answers rather than ranked in a list of links. SEO earns you a position; AEO earns you a mention.
They overlap heavily — the same crawlability, structure and authority signals matter for both. But AEO adds requirements SEO never had, most importantly that AI crawlers are permitted to fetch you, and that your content is readable without JavaScript.
-
The most common cause is the simplest: your robots.txt blocks the crawlers that generate citations.
Many sites added blanket AI-crawler blocks in 2023 and 2024 to keep their content out of training data, and excluded themselves from AI search at the same time without realising it. OAI-SearchBot and Claude-SearchBot fetch pages for live citations, not for training. Blocking them removes you from those answers entirely.
This audit checks all thirteen and tells you exactly which are blocked.
-
Start with the page you most want cited — usually a service page or your best-performing article, not your homepage.
Homepages are built to route visitors elsewhere, so they rarely contain the self-contained answer an AI assistant is looking for. A page that answers one specific question well will almost always score higher than a homepage doing five jobs at once.
-
Less than most people claim. Large-scale studies show weak direct correlation between adding schema and gaining AI citations.
Schema is genuinely useful for entity disambiguation — helping an AI system understand that your company is a specific, identifiable organisation rather than a name it has to guess about. But it will not make a thin page quotable. We score it accordingly rather than overselling it.
-
Almost certainly not, and we are one of the few audit tools that will tell you so.
Ahrefs studied 137,000 sites and found 97% of llms.txt files received no traffic at all
SE Ranking looked at roughly 300,000 domains and found no meaningful correlation with AI citations
Google has said it has no plans to support the format
AI crawlers are not observed requesting the file even where it exists
Our audit reports whether you have one but deliberately does not score it. Tools that penalise you for a missing llms.txt are selling a myth. We would rather spend your attention on things that demonstrably move the needle — starting with whether the AI crawlers are allowed to fetch you at all.
-
About fifteen seconds, and nothing. You get a score and a six-area breakdown immediately, with no account and no credit card.
The full report — a prioritised fix list with specific instructions, plus the complete AI crawler access table — is unlocked with an email address.
Want these fixed, not just found?
The audit covers one page. We will look at your whole site, your competitors, and what AI assistants already say about your category.
